Tens of Christians and Muslims from Bethlehem Governorate attended a panel on “Jewish terrorism and Jewish continuous assault on al-Aqsa Mosque” which was organized by Al-Liqa Center in which Dr. Najeh Bkirat and Dr. Nasser Lahham took part. The panel was moderated by Dr. Geries S. Khoury who welcomed attendees and the two panelists, and mentioned that the continuous Israeli infringements on the Palestinians and their holy places have become a systematic and intentional daily act. Only in the last weeks a Palestinian family was burned and three of them died. And this morning, 13/8/2015 another Palestinian home was burned too. Also, every day we hear about barbaric attacks on Palestinians. During the last few years more than 43 holy Christian and Muslim holy places had been attacked by Israeli settlers or others. The last one was two months ago against the Fish and Bread Church in Tabgha which was burned and desecrated. They left behind horrible and terrible writings on the walls.
The daily desecration and attacks are done in Jerusalem, especially on the Holy al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers, Kneset members, Rabbis and other politicians. These acts and terror are endangering al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy places by the Jewish groups.
On this subject panelist Dr. Najeh Bkirat who was the Director of Al-Aqsa Mosque and now the Director of al-Aqsa educational institutions spoke on the daily challenges in al-Aqsa and the continuous Israeli attempts to enter the mosque area determined to pray there and to desecrate the Islamic holy sites with their intention to divide it the same as what happen at the Hebron Abrahamic Mosque. He spoke also about the continuous Israeli excavations under the mosque. This of course could cause its destruction.
Dr. Bkirat hoped that the Palestinians should go to Jerusalem despite all difficulties to protect it, to pray and work in it. Palestinians should not be afraid the Israeli measures, intimidations or even their violent behavior.
Dr. Nasser Lahham, Director of Ma’an TV and of Maiadin TV office in Bethlehem, spoke about the significance of Jewish terror in Judaism and in Zionism and about the Israeli daily repressive practices against the Palestinian population such as their intimidation with the hope they will become despaired and leave their homes and properties.
Dr. Lahham added also that he thinks there are more than 1200 Israeli Jewish terrorists who believe strongly that their main goal is to exterminate Palestinian existence and lives. They do it openly and writing it on the walls of all desecrated places.
In such atmosphere, Dr. Lahham said that our duty is to strengthen our national unity and deepen the roots of our common life, Christians and Muslims, in Palestine despite all difficulties, challenges and what we see and witness the violence, hate and terror in our Arab East.
At the end there was a session of questions, comments and observations by attendees.
