Dr. Geries S. Khoury participated in a forum discussion organized by the two parishes of Sharing and Love in cooperation with the Cultural Club in the Orthodox Sectarian Council in Haifa. The forum was titled: “Challenges Facing Christians in the Arab Orient.” In addition to Dr. Khoury, Father Elias Odeh and Mr. Nasser Shaqqour participated in the forum.
In his speech, Dr. Khoury focused on the Takfiri challenge which confronts the Arab Orient in general and the Christians in it in particular. In his interposition, he emphasized that any kind of fanaticism, extremism and the thought that excluded and cancels the other is not human and it is not accepted for anybody in this time of ours. This time need mature thought which is based on human values, accepts who is different from it, respects him instead of excluding him and cooperates with him instead of marginalizing him.
