Al-Liqa’ Center hosted on 9 November 2008 in the Bethlehem Hotel in Bethlehem Doctor Peter Qumri, M. D., who presented a lecture on “Christian Zionism: its origin, practices and strategy.” This event was attended by tens of leading personalities, community leaders, religious personalities and academicians. Doctor Qumri focused on its history, key ideologues beginning in the mid 18th Century in the British Anglican Church. This ideology stressed the literal belief in the Old Testament including the ideas of the “chosen people and the promised land.” Many British political figures like loyd George and Arthur Balfour ascribed to this ideology. An intensive Question and an answer session followed.
