The remembrance public eulogy by Al-Liqa’ Center was held in the Virgin Mary Melkite Catholic Church in Bethlehem. It was attended by tens of leading public figures, community leaders and academicians as well as relatives of Dr. Geries S. Khoury.
Eulogies of the character and deeds of Dr. Geries were delivered by H. B. Patriarch Michael Sabbah, President of Al-Liqa’ Center’s Board of Trustees, the Mayor of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Vers Baboun, who presented on behalf of the municipal council members an honorary citizen of Bethlehem certificate to Dr. Geries. She was followed by H. E. Bishop Atallah Hanna, the honorable Sheikh Zuheir Al-Dib’i, Dr. Hanna ‘Issa, Dr. Hind Khoury and the honorable Sheikh Maher ‘Assaf, Ms. Samia Khoury, Mrs. Ilham Mufdi and Mr. Ibrahim Na’oum. Attorney Bishara Geries Khoury delivered a thank you message on behalf of the relatives of Dr. Geries. In addition, a documentary film highlighting Dr. Geries’ life was presented. Mr. Mousa Darwish moderated this gathering. At the conclusion of the remembrance public eulogies, a book about Dr. Geries was distributed to attendees.
