Christians and Moslems at Al-Liqa’ Center for Religious and Heritage Studies in the Holy land denounce and condemn the flagrant and rude statements made by Li’or Shlaien, one of the most well-known reporters working for Channel 10 Israeli TV, in which he ridiculed the character of Jesus Christ, the messenger of love and peace, and mocked His mother the Virgin Mary in both the Holy Bible and the Holy Koran. In a previous program, the same channel attacked the character of Prophet Mohammad, an act that provoked Moslems and Christians alike and incited them to anger.
Therefore, Al-Liqa Center calls for putting an end to such insolent hostility against divine religions, beliefs and religious and spiritual symbols. In addition, the Center calls for taking necessary measures for the purpose of deterring such violations and crimes, and hold violators legally accountable. Mere apology is not enough.
