Proceedings of the Memorial Day on 5 March 2016 began with the 40th remembrance service at Mar Elias Melkite Catholic Church in Fassouta and was followed with eulogies of Dr. Geries in the peoples Hall in Fassouta. Dr. Geries\u2019 Family, Al-Liqa\u2019 Center for Religious and Heritage Studies and Local municipal Council of Fassouta organized this 40th Memorial Day. Mr. Ziad Shleweit moderated the Eulogies in the peoples\u2019 Hall.<\/p>\n
H. B. Patriarch Michael Sabbah eulogized Dr. Geries and was followed by eulogies by Mr. Mousa Darwish of Al-Liqa\u2019, Mr. Edgar Dakkuar, President of the local municipal council, Mr. Muhammad Barakeh, President of the committee in charge of Arab citizens, H. E. Bishop Butros Mu\u2019allem, Attorney Muhammad Mi\u2019ari, and H.E. Bishop Atallah Hanna. Pharmacist Elias Jubran delivered a poem. A documentary narrating the developments at Al-Liqa\u2019 and Dr. Geries S. Khoury\u2019s leadership was presnted. Dr. Geries\u2019 son Bishara spoke on behalf of the family and thanked all attendees; and Dr. Geries\u2019 granddaughter Juwana eulogized him at the conclusion of the 40th memorial which was attended by tens of personalities, clerics, academicians and community leaders as well as Knesset members. A delegation from Al-Liqa\u2019 Center in Bethlehem attended the remembrance day as well.<\/p>\n
A booklet commemorating Dr. Geries\u2019 life which was published as a gift by Emerizian Printing, was distributed to all attendees.<\/p>\n
