At the invitation of the Churches\u2019 Council of Ramallah, Dr. Geries S. Khoury presented his research work on: \u201cBook of Evidence on Confirming Faith\u201d written by Sophronius Patriarch of Jerusalem. He wrote a part of it on his life, works and Omar\u2019s Covenant. The book was published by Al-Liqa\u2019 Center. This presentation took place at on Thursday 26 March 2015 at the Melkite Catholic Hall, Ramallah. Fr. \u2018Abdallah Julio moderated this event.<\/p>\n
Dr. Khoury stressed the importance of this work in light of \u2018Omar\u2019s Covenant and the judicious stands of Patriarch Sophronius and Caliph \u2018Omar Ibn Al-Khattab in preserving the continuity of the Church of Jerusalem and Christian holy places. Both laid the foundation for Muslim-Christian dialogue.<\/p>\n
Dr. Geries compared the times of \u2018Omar\u2019s Covenant with the present where killing and terrorism in the name of Islam is carried out despite that Islam is totally innocent from them.<\/p>\n
