A distinguished cultural evening was held in Fassouta to launch two books that were published by Al-Liqa\u2019:<\/p>\n
1. \u201cChristian Presence in the Arab East: Past, Present and Future\u201d by Fr. Dr. Rafiq Khoury<\/p>\n
2. \u201cBook of Evidence on Confirming Faith\u201d Sophronius Patriarch of Jerusalem, His life, Works and Omar\u2019s Covenant, by Dr. Geries S. Khoury<\/p>\n
The Parish priest Fr. Mikhael \u2018Assi, welcomed all those attending this distinguished evening and introduced Fr. Rafiq and Dr. Geries. Those attending the cultural events were impressed and the authors stressed the dire need to examine further Christian roots in the East.<\/p>\n
Both authors stressed the need to know each other and to be open for a sincere dialogue and for knowing the others faith and religious heritage. They also spoke about the religious discourse and the urgency to add materials at the curriculum in our schools on Arab Christians and their rich cultural contribution.<\/p>\n
