Sabeel Center \u2013 Jerusalem held a panel titled \u201cShared Living in Light of Challenges Facing the City of Jerusalem Today\u201d. Dr. Geries S. Khoury and Dr. Mustafa Abu Sway were the panelists who focused on the importance of education and understanding the other\u2019s dogma. They pointed out the need to ignore those who claim to speak on behalf of Islam. In the contrary, these groups tend to demonize the real Islam which calls for love and respect of the other. Dr. Khoury stressed the need to change the educational curricula especially in history, Arabic language and religious education. There is a dire need to add in this curriculum the role of Christians in the Arab East, before and after Islam, in building civilization.<\/p>\n
