Dr. Geries S. Khoury, Director of Al-Liqa\u2019 Center took part in the proceedings of Kairos Palestine\u2019s international conference which took place 4-9 December 2011. Dr. Khoury participated in a panel titled: \u201cTheological Contextual and Perspectives\u201d which was moderated by Dr. Muna Mushahwar of the Kairos Youth.<\/p>\n

Dr. Khoury focused in his talk on the effect of \u201cA Moment f Truth\u201d on the Christians of Galilee.<\/p>\n

He stressed the importance of the Document pointing out that it was written by Christians who live in occupied Palestine since the June 5th 1967 war. The document is considered an important reference to every Christian and the people of the world. It has a distinctive clear voice which demands justice and peace and which deepens their awareness and the living of the teachings of Jesus Christ in every age and every time and at the same time taking into consideration the particularities\/ context of every age and everytime. Dr. Khoury added that although some of the points at Kairos Palestine are important for the Christians in Galilee, they, still need another Kairos Document which will give clear answers to pressing problems facing them as citizens of Israel.<\/p>\n

These pressing problems are many. Dr. Khoury, focused on some problems which are facing all the Arab Israeli citizens especially the Jewishness of the state and racist laws which the Kenesset is discussing presently.
