Meeting with group of theologycal students from Sweeden
and from other countries

May 2, 2012

Al-Liqa’ Center in coordination with the Swedish Theological Center in Jerusalem organized a study day for a group of theologycal students from Sweeden and from other countries like the Philipine and the United States. In this meeting there was a discussion of the state of Christians in the Arab world and the future of Christian presence.

Dr. Khoury said that the continuous talking about the future of Christians in the Arab world is very dangerous since it leads to self marginalization. We need to speak about the future of citizens in the Arab world and not of the Christians as if they are aliens. Arab Christians are citizens and we, Christians and Muslims, should work for a better future for all, in which we live in liberty, freedom and under a constitution where everyone is treated equally in rights and duties.

The meeting focused as well on interfaith dialogue and to need to write Palestinian theology that would help faithfuls to understand their faith.

This was followed by a session of questions and answers.
