Condemnation Statement:
In response to the burning of the mosque of Beit Fajjar

Al-Liqa Center for Religious and Heritage Studies in the Holy Land issued the following statement in the aftermath of the burning of the mosque of Beit Fajjar in the Bethlehem Governorate.

Al-Liqa' Center condemns strongly the burning of the mosque of Beit Fajjar. This is not the first time that mosques are faced with burning and looting. Several mosques were attacked by colonial settlers but without the arrest of the culprits. The burning of mosques is an attack on the freedom of worship and on human and religious values. In addition, these attacks only add to tensions at the time when the peace process is in the making. We, Muslims and Christians, condemn this attack on the mosque of Beit Fajjar. We ask for the arrest of the culprits and to bring them to justice.
