“Two Fatimid Inscriptions at Al-Aqsa Mosque: A New Reading”

Dr. ‘Omar ‘Abed Rabbo, Lecturer in Islamic and Ottoman histories at Bethlehem University’s Dept. of Humanity, presented his power point lecture to several friends of Al-Liqa’, academicians and community leaders.

The first inscription revolved around the era of Fatimid Caliph Imam and ruler Al-Zaher (1021-1036 A. D.). The second inscription revolved around the era of Caliph Imam Al-Mustansir (1036-1094 A. D.).

Dr. ‘Omar introduced his lecture with a brief look at the scholarly area of Epigraphy. He gave a critical readings of the two inscriptions found at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
